JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:

To manage and control the effective utilization of hardware and software of operations related to all operating systems or platforms, which includes Mainframe, AIX, Oracle, Storage, Databases, Wintel and Network operations.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Key Responsibilities

·       Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

·       Follows the day-to-day operations to ensure incessant delivery of services, so as to support the applications and business efficiently, with minimum interruption of daily operations.

·       Manage the daily operations to ensure systems efficiency and capacity to deliver all daily business services within acceptable KPIs and SLAs.

·       Evaluate the need for new and revised systems; identifies possible improvements in computer systems and recommend for the purchase of new hardware and software, in coordination with Capacity Management.

·       Participate in all RFP and RFQ drafting and responses evaluation.

·       Coordinate, plan and supervise the implementation of new hardware and software.  Test and monitor the operation of new hardware and software to meet departments' needs.

·       Support the Project Management Office to identify projects’ hardware and software requirements.

·       Adhere to the patch management process during the deployment and maintenance of interim software releases, to ensure that all hardware and software are at the most acceptable patching level.

·       Ensure effective and continuous monitoring of the efficiency of the operating systems, servers, databases and applications, so as to enhance their reliability and availability.

·       Analyze and recommend the most reliable and cost-effective solutions.

·       Ensure data availability and integrity at any given point of time.

·       Develops contingency and data recovery plans, providing the required infrastructure of the systems, so as to enable the protection and availability of data at all times.

·       Supports the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the assigned systems and monitors their efficiency and compliance with set targets, so as to facilitate the evaluation of their performance prior to management reporting.

·       Identifies any potential malfunction in the operating systems efficiency and proceeds to the implementation of solutions that will restore their efficiency according to banking standards and agreed SLAs.

·       Proceeds to the accurate connectivity of the required hardware and devices, so as to enable the effective utilization of systems and applications.

·       Ensure that the databases, storage and network resources for all operating systems are accurately secured, monitored and available for all relevant parties.

·       Develop and comply to the SLAs set with business for BT services.

·       Develop SLAs with solution provider vendors.

·       Attend to the alerts/notifications of service outage raised by the BMC Monitoring tool.

·       Ensure all related Disaster Recovery testing activities are performed accurately according to predefined process.

·       Ensure all related technical documentations are quality developed and well tested.

·       Control and manage the resources consumption to comply with the predefined contract requirements.

·       Perform yearly software and hardware capacity audit and provide recommendations to control the extra required capacity.

·       Manage and control all related incidents, prepare the incident reports, recommend solutions and identify risks and financial loses.

·       Network Management and Monitoring.

·       Work with Strategic Planners, vendors, STC, Telecom Engineers and other Riyad Bank groups and Departments to facilitate implementation of Network Infrastructure and Network Monitoring Activities in accordance with Telecom Department approved Strategic Plans and policies

·       Development and assessment of implementation level plans, network and communications designs, RFP/RFI documents, tender and contractual documents, etc.

·       Attendance at Design and Implementation Planning level meetings with and on behalf of Manager Systems Management Department

·       Verifying, through formalized plans that Riyad Bank Network conforms with MoPTT , STC, SAMA and where appropriate, International requirements and standards

·       Analyzing data to assist Manager, other Network Planners and Strategic Planners with planning of Capital and Expense budgets for Telecommunication Network Development.

·       Recommend and implement best Network management processes for improved network efficiency.

·       Recommend and implement best monitoring processes for better and more effective and proactive network monitoring.

·       Integrate Network Monitoring Systems with Bank monitoring systems to ensure proactive monitoring.

·       Integrate, NMS, management system, change management, asset management, and problem management systems to ensure recording, resolution, and higher problem management processes.

·       Review and approval of network change requests.

·       Development of technical network communication reports.

·       Generation and Administration of Change Management Procedures within the Telecom Department, SMD, and Change Management.

·       Supervision where required of junior Engineering and technical staff.

·       The Job holder is obliged to abide by any instructions provided by his Manager with respect to the scope of work.

·       Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practices’, improvement of business processes and cost reduction (TCO & ROI) improvements.

·       Identify opportunities, strategies and solutions that are directly linked to organizational and business goals, in line with BT strategy.

·       Identify all related resources to support the required systems efficiently.

·       Ensure effective and continuous training to all juniors.

·       Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports of Riyad Bank to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.

·       Preparation of daily utilization and resource consumption reports.

·       Preparing the monthly work load consumption reports.

·       Complies with all relevant security, safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

·       Interact directly with Security department to recommend the most suitable security systems for the Bank.

·       Report any security breaches on a daily basis.

·       Ensure systems are operating within certain security controls.

·       Performs other related duties or assignments as directed by management.
